Guide to the Wireless Network

Before You Try to Connect

Important: Before you try to connect to the wireless network, you must first log in to the OCC network using a Windows PC on campus (e.g., using a PC in the Academic Computing Center or an Internet Cafe).  Please note that logging in to WebAccess to register for classes is not enough.  You must first log into the network on a campus PC in order to connect to the wireless network.

How to Connect

It is impossible to provide a single set of instructions to connect a laptop to the OCCWireless Network, and we cannot guarantee access.  The Helpdesk is unable to provide connection assistance due to the variability among PCs and high call volumes.

Instructions are provided below.  You can generally obtain additional assistance at the beginning of the fall and spring terms, by attending a wireless clinic and/or asking for help in the Academic Computing Center.

Questions about wireless?  Check our Frequently Asked Questions.  Wondering which wireless cards will work?  See a partial list of cards that are compatible (.pdf).

Here are links to instructions to help you connect to the OCCWireless network.  Select the correct instructions based upon your operating system.
