Academic Advising
First-Semester Student Advising through PowerStart
Students new to the College are invited to orientation and first-year student advising after they complete their placement testing and immunization documentation. The half-day orientation session includes advising, scheduling and registration for classes. New students receive their permanent faculty-advisor assignment in their first semester. Continuing Student Advising
The Center for Advising and First-Year Students, in cooperation with faculty advisors, currently coordinates the advising process for all continuing students. Advisors in the Advising Center are available for consultation each semester and throughout the summer during regularly scheduled office hours. Although advisors are available to help, it is ultimately the student’s responsibility to pursue the courses which will fulfill graduation requirements.
