November 2015 Transfer Calendar
While some students choose to start their career immediately upon graduation, many find that Onondaga Community College is also an ideal launchpad for continuing their education at a four-year institution.
Starting here and transferring to another school for a more advanced degree could be one of the smartest moves you'll ever make. In fact, the Cooperative Admissions Program has become extremely popular with many students today - regardless of their GPA or SAT scores. The Upstate Medical University Early Assurance Agreement is an early admissions program with guaranteed admission into one of their upper division programs. And our transfer agreements with a variety of SUNY and private colleges and universities allow associate degree graduates to transfer with full junior status.
Why is it so smart? For starters, you'll save money and maximize your college investment. (Hey, a Harvard degree is still a Harvard degree, regardless of the fact that you spent two years here before you went there.) Our students have successfully transferred their credits to some of the most prestigious schools in the country, including Columbia University, RISD, USC, to name a few.
Secondly, starting your four-year education here will also help ease your transition-especially if you're still trying to figure out what you want to do, as many students are. The best part is you get to indulge your curiosity and experience a wide variety of course offerings. Interested in T-squares and T-bones? Why not study graphic design and cooking at the same time? Work on your foundation studies to prepare for med school while you indulge your passion for creative writing.
The way you begin your college career is an important first step in defining how you will behave in the working world. Choosing to start at Onondaga and continue on elsewhere says you're someone who is willing to explore new challenges.
