Financial aid programs help cover college expenses such as tuition, fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation. Financial aid is available in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and employment.
If the amount of financial aid for which you are eligible is greater than the amount you owe to the College as of the dates outlined below, the excess funds will be provided to you in the form of a check, direct deposit to your bank account, or deposit to your Lazer Card, as you request per the schedule below:
After the second full week of February 2017:
100% of New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) grants
100% of Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity (SEOG) grants
100% of Federal Parent Loans (PLUS)
50% of Federal Pell Grants
50% of Federal Direct Student Loans
After the third full week of March 2017:
Please keep in mind that federal financial aid rules require a student to attend his or her classes for the entire period in which aid is awarded. If you withdraw from college entirely, drop one or moreclasses, or stop attending one or more classes, you may lose some or all ofyour financial aid while still being responsible for any expenses you haveincurred. Please check with your advisor and the Financial Aid Office prior to making any changes in your academic schedule, and make regular class attendance a priority.

Onondaga establishes a financial aid student expense budget that includes tuition, fees, books, room, board, transportation and personal expenses. Only tuition and fees will appear on your billing statement but the other expenses are calculated for the purpose of establishing need and awarding aid.
