If a student needs a temporary leave of absence (one week or
less) due to a medical circumstance, an attempt to notify the student’s
instructors via electronic mail will be made after the student alerts the
Office of Student Engagement and Learning Support at (315) 498-2226. However,
it is the student’s ultimate responsibility to contact each instructor to
obtain missed homework and assignments and to withdraw from any course he/she
will not be able to complete.
If a student needs to withdraw from the entire
semester due to a medical circumstance, he/she has the option to file for a
medical leave of absence. Students can apply for a medical leave of absence by
completing a Medical Leave of Absence Application. Applications, with supporting medical documentation, must be
received by the Office of Student Engagement BEFORE the end of the semester.
If the semester has already ended or to withdraw
from only a portion of courses in which enrolled, the student must complete a Petition to Waive the Academic Rule and submit it with supporting documentation for review by
the Scholastic Standards Committee.
